Recipe Ingredients:

Below is the method of cooking homemade channa dal halwa recipe that makes your mouth- watery.

For making 1 kg channa dal halwa:-

Ingredients

6 pieces Choti lachi (small cardamom)

4 piece long (cloves)

1 tin milkmaid

1 medium-size dalchini (Cinnamon)

50 gm cashew

1.5 liter boiled cow milk/ packet milk

50 gm almond

250gms pure ghee / dalda

1 kg sugar

25gm pasta badam

A big spoon for stirring

Preparation Time – 1 hour

Cooking Time Duration – 1.00 – 1.30 hr

Note – Stirring continuously makes the channa dal dessert very tasty and it changes the color to natural brownish and doesn’t let the layer stick on the bottom.

Wash Channa dal and soak in water for around 1 hour for great benefits in health as decreasing cholesterol and removing the gas-producing elements.

After one hour of soaked Channa dal strain, the water and wash it with the freshwater and boiled it on 1-liter milk till the dal becomes soft and check from the finger (easy to smash) and let all milk absorbed in dal till it gets dry.

After this remove the boiled channa dal from the flame and leave it aside for a few hours till it cools down.

After cooling down mince the dal in the mixture/hand machines or smash the channa dal till it gets mixed and completely changes its texture to a thick layer type.

Take a big handi that can be easily filled with 1 kg of smashed channa dal. Heat the handi in low flame then add 250 gms of ghee, garam masala that includes chota elachi ( small cardamom), long (clove), and dalchini (Cinnamon) with the said amount given in the ingredients.

Now add the minced/smashed channa dal to the heated garam masala and take the flame to the normal temperature and start stirring it slowly continuously.

After a few minutes low down the flame in between so that the smashed channa dal layers don’t get stick to the bottom of the handi but keep stirring slowly without stopping.

Continuous stirring till all the smells get disappear and it seems to be roasted well.

Then add sugar and keep stirring till it gets dissolved and a small bubble comes out from the boiling mixture.

Then add 1 tin of milkmaid and keep stirring the handi with a big spoon and when the layers become dry add the remaining 1/2 kg of cow milk/packet milk and keep stirring continuously for a few more mins.

When the dessert is ready the layer started getting dry and a sweet roasted aroma of cooked dal will be smelled.

Then add some ghee, cashew nuts, almonds, and a pasta cut in small pieces for the topping.

For the best and yummy taste serve when it’s lightly heated, it gives awesome flavor.
